How Does VC Alan Patricof Identify Successful Cos.?

In an interview with The New York Enterprise Report, Patricof, cofounder of Greycroft Partners, Inc. abd investor in NYC-area technology startups, shares his thoughts on what he believes will make a company successful.  First, he places greater store in the entrepreneurs and not the venture capitalists.  Of course, he also notes that success is realized when a company becomes cash-flow positive.

He goes on to talk about how proud he was to be involved with the formation of Cellular Communications Incorporated, but when asked how he knew cellular would be such a huge marker, he says, " I didn’t know it; I was lucky."
