New York State may be the first to adopt a policy that would require software vendors selling in the State to demonstrate how they prevent problems through design and code testing. The State is reviewing the Common Weakness Enumeration/SANS Institute list of the Top 25 Most Dangerous Programming Errors as a baseline for this software security policy.
