NY State Tax Credit Program for TV, Film May End

A "victim of its own success," the tax credit program for film and television productions in NY State may end.  Its budget of $460 million, meant to last until 2013, has been depleted in less than ten months.

Now, NY politicians and the tv and film industry here are lobbying the governor to replenish the tax incentive, fearing that new productions will go elsewhere.  Gov. Paterson, however, is reluctant to do so faced with the state's looming $14 billion budget deficit.
