The Guardian's Paul Carr critiqued the recently-concluded 140 Characters Conference which took place at New World Stages in Manhattan's Midtown neighborhood this week, from the focus on Twitter's earliest adopters' use of the microblogging service for self-promotion to the meager catering budget which resulted in coffee and cold drinks running out on the first day.
Carr was also surprised by the choice of venue for the conference, noting that there was no wi-fi and barely any reception for mobile phones, keeping attendees from being able to access Twitter.
