Three Events to Mark OneWebDay NYC 2009

Three events are schedules in New York City to mark OneWebDay, a celebration of the World Wide Web that has grown into an all-volunteer campaign to create an active community of Internet advocates across the United States.

They include:

  • "Universal Broadband- The Road Ahead", a symposium scheduled to take place on Saturday, September 19, from 12 to 2 PM at the Courant Insitute, featuring Alex Goldman, former managing editor, ISP-Planet, Dana Spiegel, executive director at NYCwireless, Lou Klepner, founder, NYC Community Fiber Project, Joshua Breitbart, policy director at People's Production House, and Tom Kamber, director, Older Adults Technology Services
  • Open Source / Open Culture: "From Software to Everywhere" party, scheduled to take place on Saturday, September 19, from 6 to 10 PM at The Open Planning Project
  • OneWebDay Celebration in Washington Square Park, scheduled to take place on Tuesday, September 22, from 12 to 2 PM, featuring music and speakers Medhi Saharkhiz of Where is My Vote, New York City Council member Gale Brewer, and Phil Ashlock of The Open Planning Project
