In November or December, the NYC Taxi and Limousine Commission will be voting on the implementation of new rules for taxi drivers. These rules would not only ban them from talking on a cellphone, but they also would ban any technology, except for voice-activated GPS units, capable of distracting the driver in any manner while the
cab is moving.
The new regulations would also come with skyrocketed fines and a
"three-strikes-and-yer-out system" in which repeat offenders will have their
licenses revoked.
