Freeverse Finds Success With Games for IPhone

Freeverse may make games and programs for computers, but the Brooklyn-based software development company founded by Ian Lynch Smith in 1994 shifted its focus to the iPhone as "the popularity of the device skyrocketed."

Its Moto Chaser, Flick Fishing, Flick Bowling, and Skee-ball have all appeared on the iPhone App Store's list of best selling downloads and the company is now working on a game featuring a Jane Austen character in a lacy dress who karate-chops her way through hordes of advancing zombies.

Still, it's a process.  Software firm Cerulean Studios, based in Brookfield, CT, recently began doing the same, only getting a call from Apple in November, after three months of waiting, that its app would be going live in the store.
