Dennis Crowley discussed how his New York based company Foursquare, is handling its explosion in popularity, his plans for the future of the service and how the music industry can take advantage of the service in a Q & A with Billboard.biz.
Crowley told Billboard that brands such as celebrities or music labels could use Foursquare by leaving content that fans can discover by checking into places. "So if they're touring in Chicago and you are in Chicago, then these are the places the artists go to and you can live vicariously through the band by going to these same places," said Crowley Crowley Discusses Music Industry and Foursquare

Interesting interview, although I think the focus on whether or not Foursquare is appropriate for bands should be based on whether it can help them build new fans.
