Startups Address NY Parking Woes

Two NY startups are taking very different approaches to the city's parking dilemma. StreetParkNYC, which focuses on the Upper West Side, uses a market based approach to connect people about to vacate a parking spot with people willing to pay a few dollars to find one nearby. The person who wants a spot posts a query to see what spots are available nearby.

Another more altruistic social networking approach is taken by Roadify. Based in Park Slope, the company asks people to do good and they will receive good information in return. People text when they see an empty parking spot and others text when they need to park.

I hope one of them works because driving around looking for parking is the worst.
