Time Warner Cable, in collaboration with Clearwire, will be binging its Road Runner wireless service to the NY metropolitan area in 2010, according to Mike Roudi, group VP. Road Runner is a Wi-Max subscription service that provides guaranteed access to high speed wireless for subscribers. The company already offers Wi-Fi hotspots in NY, as well as many more in partnership with Cablevision.
Roudi believes that the more services the company bundles the more utility the company provides. Wi-Fi will bring new customers into the company's bundles, he said. In addition, the Road Runner Wi-Max offering should enhance adoption of TV Everywhere, since customers elsewhere are getting enough speed for excellent access to video content.
