CB Insights, a private company research firm based in NYC, released this week new venture data for the first quarter of 2010. The data revealed that along with New York state, New Jersey and Connecticut were two of several states that had at least 10 venture deals during the quarter. New Jersey also stayed in the top five on venture dollars received based on health care investments.
Overall, the first quarter of 2010 saw investments of $5.9 billion across 731 deals as opposed to $3.9 billion over 483 deals a year ago.
