Hauppauge Digital App Streams Live TV to iPhone, iPad

Hauppauge Digital,  a company based in Hauppauge, Long Island that makes digital TV tuner cards and USB dongles, says it has a "placeshifting" application for the iPhone, iPad and other Apple devices that lets the devices stream live TV over the Internet using the company's WinTV HVR, installed on the home computer. The software, called WinTV Extend, uses the PC to transmit live TV to the Internet and Wi-Fi connected devices.

On the larger screen of the iPad, the live TV image is displayed along with a tuner channel list from the WinTV HVR, while on the iPhone and iPad Touch users toggle between the tuner display and live TV. The WinTV v7.2 application will be available directly from for $9.95.
