Time Div. Working on Facebook Magazine Application

Synapse, a division of NYC based Time Inc.  that sells subscriptions for many publishers, is working with Alvenda, a company that builds e-commerce applications, to create a system letting Facebook users buy print magazines without leaving the Facebook news feed. The system is expected to go live in July or August, Nat Ives of AdAge.com reported in an article.

The system is also expected to let Facebook users expand articles, complete with ads, within the news feed. Interestingly, revenue from magazine subscriptions sold on Facebook will be shared among Synapse, the publishers and Alvenda. Facebook will not take a cut, according to the article.
