Times “Blogger-Friendly” Paywall to Encourage Linking

The New York Times is working on a blogger friendly paywall that will encourage links to the site. While the Times is building a paywall, it is a "metered model" where readers can access a certain number of articles per month for free.

Times spokeswoman Stacy Green says that once the pay model is implemented, readers will be prompted to pay after reaching a certain reading limit. Articles that readers access via links from third party sites to NYTimes.com will count toward the reading limit but never trigger the gate, Green said.
