FiOS Services Delayed in Manhattan

Verizon began offering its FiOS services in NYC two years ago, but the expansion has proved to be slowed and delayed.  FiOS has been delayed in Manhattan's nearly 800,000 dwellings because older buildings, compiled with bureaucratic and technical hurdles, complicate the task of new wiring needed for its services.

Only an estimated 17% of Manhattan's homes have been wired so that customers can sign up for FiOS, but the company says they're proceeding on schedule, expecting to reach at least 25% of Manhattan homes by the end of the year.
