NYC’s Expansion Projects Received Much Venture Funding in Q2

Late last week, PriceWaterhouseCoopers and National Venture Capital Association released a report on the  results of the 2010 Q2 investments, with half of NYC area venture funding going to media, entertainment and software projects.  The $194.7 million investment were allocated mostly to expansion projects including  Tremor Media Inc., an online video advertising network, luxury e-retailer Gilt Groupe, and TRA, the media service company for Vanderbilt Avenue.

In a Crain's New York Business article, PriceWaterhouseCoopers partner David Silverman comments, “The Internet industry is alive and well, and attracting a good amount
of venture funding. I wouldn't say it's unexpected. It continues to
validate that New York is the center of the Internet industry.”
