Bethpage LI’s Cablevision Systems Corp. is developing a couple of live TV and Video on Demand (VOD) apps for the iPad and a range of smartphones. One app will allow subscribers to view cable programming, including VoD, on broadband-connected devices and another will let owners use the devices to navigate through digital video content on TVs.
One catch is that subscribers will only be able to get subscription TV from their own residences, not on the road. Cablevision also said it has reached the testing and verification phase of a system that will allow subscriber access to web video content from PCs, on their TVs.
