The Internet is increasingly mirroring the "regular" economy, TechCrunch's Erick Schonfeld told The New York Post, so the best shot for some real world workers may not be with brick and mortar companies, but in the Internet industry.
Rapidly growing New York companies such as Gilt.com, Knewton.com, SecondMarket.com and Foursquare.com are hiring many workers who used to work at blue-chip firms. Besides tech whizzes, they are looking for people with experience and connections in advertising, fashion, public relations and finance.
