Seeing the Bigger Picture at Gawker

Peter Kafka takes a look at Gawker's planned redesign of its nine-blog empire at All Things Digital, and ends up feeling like he's watching TV.

Screen shots on the beta versions of Jalopnik and Deadspin, for example, show enlarged photos and videos that contrast sharply with the more crowded current design of Gawker Media sites.

Kafka notes that online advertising has been trending toward TV-sized content already, citing screen-filling video ads on the Huffington Post as an example.
