Advertising Week: Katie Couric Says in With the New, But Keep the Old

This week at the Web 2.0 Expo in NY, CBS News anchor Katie Couric discussed the integration of new and traditional media to create a more effective and interactive industry.   According to InformationWeek, she stated “To all the critics who say lamestream media is dead, I say, ‘Not so fast fellas,’”  to defend older media outlets.

Using the example of following Twitter feeds and Facebook updates during the Gulf oil spill on CBS News, Couric depicted that old and new media don’t need to be in competition and in fact work better together
