Billboard Magazine Works to Regain Influence

NYC based Billboard magazine, once one of the most influential music publications, is now being phased out by the internet and advancements in mobile technology, according to ReadWriteWeb.  The article explains how the magazine,  in an attempt to regain relevance in the digital world, Billboard will host the first "Billboard's Mobile Entertainment Live: The Music App Summit" in 2010 to portray an edgier persona of a seemingly outdated music source.

Billboard faces new obstacles from competitor sites such as iTunes, Hype Machine and Ultimate Chart.  These similar sites have already begun to made advancements Billboard has not yet made.  With artists releasing their music online for free, Billboard must also revamp their paid download method of music streaming.
