A battle is shaping up over ads urging Californians to vote yes for legalized marijuana and which outlets will carry them. According to Wired, NY-based Condé Nast owned Reddit, a socially populated news aggregator, staged a mini-rebellion recently, deciding to run ads for a pro-marijuana legalization campaign for free after Condé Nast ruled against taking payment for the ads.
Ron Mwangaguhunga at eMedia Vitals quotes an unnamed source that said that letting Reddit go off the ranch to run pot ads is what a good hands off owner ought to do to let a small property maintain its personality. Facebook apparently also banned the same ads and has been going after marijuana sites, disabling accounts.
