New York Media Companies Move Back Downtown

Many of New York’s media companies are moving their Midtown offices back to Lower Manhattan, where many newspapers originated in the late 19th century near “Park Row.”  The Alliance for Downtown New York counted 60 media companies based downtown or soon moving to the area, including Fast Company, Men’s Fitness, Conde Nast and Newsweek/Daily Beast.

The area has come a long way since its decline and ghost town image of the 1960s.  The alliance has helped with the migration effort by opening the Hive 14 months ago, an office space for writers, web designers, and publishing employees.
