UpNext, a New York City based 3D mobile mapping service, recently raised $500,000 in a Series A funding round from Chris Sacca’s Lowercase Capital, David Cohen of TechStars, David Tisch and Oleg Tscheltzoff. An additional $57,000 was tacked on from a previously undisclosed friends-and-family round in 2009.
According to TechCrunch, company co-founder Danny Moon, the company will use the funds to expand its platform so that it becomes the underpinning technology of “travel guides, resorts, event planners, amusement parks, to name a few.”
