DoITT’s Post Named NY State CIO of the Year

During this year’s New York State CIO Academy conference in Albany, Carole Post, NY’s CIO and commissioner of the Department of Information Technology and Telecommunication (DoITT), was named the 2011 New York State Public Sector CIO of the Year.

Appointed by Mayor Michael Bloomberg, she has overseen the Citywide IT Infrastucture Services, which according to Government Technology, is a program that will consolidate more than 50 of the city’s data centers, which is anticipated to save the city’s taxpayers $100 million over the next five years.

Last year, she also lead negotiations for a citywide licensing agreement with software vendors to consolidate  contracts across the city, which is projected to save the city $68 million over five years.
