Foursquare‘s community manager Chrysanthe Tenentes is responsible for acting as a conduit between the users and the corporation. The most important part of her job is making sure Foursquare users feel heard, cared for and protected. Tenentes deals with concerns of all kinds, including privacy, functionality problems and requests for new features.
When Tenentes joined the company in January 2010, Foursquare had 250,000 members, which has since grown to more than 8 million. Co-founder Dennis Crowley told Capital New York, “Sometimes it feels almost like [Tenentes is] their ‘elected representative’ and the community expresses their big asks through her.”
