NY Tech Job Fair is Jammed

The second annual NYC Startup Job Fair drew large crowds of job seekers late last week, hoping to get involved in one of the city’s hottest startups.  Drew Nichols, development manager at TheLadders.com, a career website, says to CNNMoney.com, “This is the only industry that has a booming number of jobs — and they cannot fill those jobs fast enough.”  While graduating college students are thankful for the startups’ aggressive hiring, some people in the industry are nervous that it is resembling a tech bubble.

The fair, held at AOL’s headquarters and organized by SecondMarket’s business strategy analyst Alex Horn, was so packed that 80 startups were rejected from participating.  They have since joined together to host the Silicon Alley Job Fair within the next month or two.
