Stanford Details NY Bid for Roosevelt Island Tech Campus

Stanford University recently submitted a proposal to NY to build a campus on Roosevelt Island for an applied science research and education campus for masters and doctoral students studying engineering, computer science and business.  The high-tech campus would be constructed over 25 years, beginning in 2013, and hopes to allow 440 students to enroll by the fall of 2015.  Eventually the university hopes to expand the campus to hold 2,200 students and 100 faculty.

Stanford is joined by 26 other institutions, including Cornell University and Columbia University, who responded to the New York City Economic Development Corporation’s request for proposals to build innovation centers on four possible locations in the city.
