Fortune Designs Web App, Fortune500+

Fortune magazine created a new app to run off of web browsers, called Fortune500+.  Although the app will only be available on desktops and laptops at first, it will soon be transferred on to tablets.  Fortune did not want to limit itself, as many magazines are designing apps solely for one device, like the iPad.  The problem is , according to Advertising Age, is that since it is designed for all platforms, it doesn’t take advantage of each one’s specific capabilities.

The free version of the app will provide company descriptions, details on financials and customizable stock charts.  The premium version at $9.99 provides more features, including enabling users to view their LinkedIn connections at each company,
