Be careful what you put on Facebook is something Joe Lipari learned the hard way.  After going to the 57th St. Apple store in September 2009 and receiving no help in fixing his iPhone, Lipari posted a violent/joke message on his Facebook wall.  One of his Facebook “friends” saw the post and reported him to the police, who promptly arrested and charged him with making terrorist threats and weapons charges.

The post, which involved going into the Apple store with an “Armalite AR-10 gas powered semi-automatic weapon” and shooting the concierges, was actually a paraphrased quote from the movie “Fight Club.”  Lipari faced up to seven years in prison for his joke, but his charges were finally dismissed by a Queens criminal court in February 2011.

Lipari is now free to leave NY after in light of the court dismissal, the NYPD dropped the charges against him.
