City Harvest, a NY-based hunger charity, has joined forces with Open Table to bring restaurant-goers an application that shares what restaurants in NY donate their excess food nightly to the charity. Searchable by cuisine, location or name, the app displays which restaurant of a user’s choice is a City Harvest partner. Users are also given the chance to donate in the moment via LetGive, an in-app donation startup.
According to Fast Company the in-app donation is a tech innovation, explaining that when you, “Bring the charitable request to the potential donor and eliminate as many barriers as possible and you increase the chance of a gift.”
