Brooklyn Entrepreneur Gives Insights on Online Daily Deals

Daily deals has become a new found phenomenon in the online world, yet its core concepts aretraditional as Crain’s New York Business explains, “Daily deal marketing is simply a high-tech spin on the age-old idea of the loss leader: An executive is willing to pay to acquire a new customer.”

Zalmi Duchman recently talked to Crain’s  about the inner workings of online daily deal sites and how they’ve come to help, with trial and errors, his Brooklyn-based daily delivery meal site, The Fresh Diet. Duchman explained how Groupon helped his site with repeat customers, but how their customer service isn’t up to par. He also says how learning from mistakes has structured a new formula for his daily deals, as the site now gives a seven-day option only. In the end, Duchman hesitantly recommends daily online coupon sites to entrepreneurs, only if they can handle it.
