Marc Benioff, CEO of Salesforce.com, is currently delivering a keynote speech at his company’s event, Cloudforce New York this morning taking place at the Javits Convention Center. According to All Things D, his speech centers around the importance of companies emerging themselves in social media tools, using the Egypt protests and the overthrow of Mubarak as his argument.
Benioff is also sharing information on Salesforce’s new acquisition of Radian6, a social media monitoring platform. Radian6 will act as a “social marketing cloud” with new features for Salesforce clients to engage sales leads and contacts via social media, and filtering through content in order to find users with a clear intent to buy and those who seek guidance., while the monitoring platform will help companies work with the shared user feedback.
While Salesforce’s share price, valuation and growth prospects is uncertain, the company is on the path to becoming a $3 billion company.
