NY Companies Give Hyperlocal Predictions for 2012

As the year winds down, successful NY based executives have offered their predictions for hyperlocal websites in 2012. Nihal Mehta, the CEO of LocalReponse believes that consumers will publicly publish to the web by way of passive check-ins, apps that are “geoaware.” Warren Webster, president of AOL’s Patch explains that consumers will move away from daily deals and towards location based apps. He also believes Google, Facebook and social media companies will use more hyperlocal to advertise. Eli Portnoy, CEO of ThinkNear, believes that hyperlocal will make more use of mobile advertisements, as advertisers will have more control and visibility to see what they are buying. Therefore, local businesses will be able to run hyper-local mobile ads.
