NY’s TickPick Helps Fans Find Tickets

TickPick is a NY-based startup, created by Chris O’ Brien and Brett Goldberg, which helps ticket buyers find deals on sporting events and concerts. In an interview with Citybizlist, the two founders cited differences from other ticket finding sites such as SeatGeek and StubHub. For example, while SeatGeek  directs users to sites that offer lower prices on certain seats, TickPick advises the consumer through the entire process. In addition, the site uses algorithms to remove overpriced tickets right off-the-bat. According to the founders, however,  the biggest disparity lies in their bidding platform, which lets people place bids and negotiate prices with sellers by simply setting a price range and desired seat location.

Using the site to buy tickets is completely free, while sellers pay a small 10%, as oppose to the norm which is 15% to sellers and 10% to buyers.  According to Citybizlist, by 2012, O’Brien and Goldberg plan to expand to all major cities in the U.S. and begin to raise capital through seeding and angel funding.
