During Fashion Week NY, buyers have to squeeze in as many shows as possible–hence the week has morphed into 10 days.  In order to accommodate schedules, KCD Worldwide is creating digital fashion shows. Developed with King & Partners, a NY digital agency, it will launch during next month’s Fashion Week with designer Prabal Gurung.

During Fashion Week, buyers typically go to designers to view collections on runways. But using KCD’s Digital Fashion Show, guests log in with a password and watch shows on computers or mobile devices. The shows will include links and embedded video to watch after the show. Designers will pay anywhere between $150,000 to $300,000—or about the cost of a small-to-medium show.

“Every journalist will get what they need to review the show,” Ed Filipowski, KCD’s co-president, told The Wall Street Journal. He said that they will produce two shows this season and expect to do “multiple” shows next season.
