Charlie O’Donnell is leaving NY-based First Round Capital to start a Brooklyn-based venture fund. The fund will be the first VC fund to help new and very young companies on the “other side of the Brooklyn Bridge.”

O’Donnell is calling the fund Brooklyn Bridge Ventures and will offer early and seed stage funding to startups in Brooklyn, where he lives. O’Donnell says the fund may also invest in other boroughs, but its main objective will be investing in the thriving Brooklyn startup environment. GigaOm reports that the fund will have about $7 to $10 million to invest.
