HuffPost Unveils New Celebrity-Filled Moviefone Site

The Huffington Post’s newly redesigned Moviefone.com site includes content from Harvey Weinstein and Jon Patricof, COO of the Tribeca Film Festival. According to TheWrap, Moviefone is now more fully integrated into HuffPost, with blogs and other content written by celebrities, politicians and other notables.

“It’s really exciting because the issue or the topic is Hollywood and the movies and we’re reaching out to a lot of really fascinating people,” Michael Hogan, AOL-HuffPost’s executive features editor, told TheWrap. “We are excited about the opportunity to let these folks who are constantly in the media being talked about to speak out in first person about things.”

Moviefone’s first movie post is by Mike Kaplan, who worked with Stanley Kubrick on A Clockwork Orange and 2001. Kaplan describes how Kubrick accidentally invented the modern-day box office report.

Hogan told TheWrap that the new content, along with its upcoming Oscars coverage, will distinguish Moviefone from competitors like Fandango.
