Before buying The Huffington Post, AOL had 78.9 million unique visitors. But recent Neilsen numbers show visits have dropped to 73.6 million. When AOL boss Tim Armstrong paid $135 million to buy HuffPost, analysts said it was too much. But now the New York Post reports that an unnamed tipster says it was Armstrong’s “biggest mistake to date.”

“A total disaster from the beginning,” the Post’s source said. “Between all the layoffs and redesign, it’s amazing anyone would want to work at HuffPo. They’re chasing the competition now rather than leading it.”
