At the New York Gaming Meetup, Brad Hargreaves searches for the next big game. Each month he invites developers to show off their latest projects at General Assembly.
According to Business Insider, this month, the crowd got to see an assortment of card games, Facebook apps and iPhone games.
Race Condition is a card game using simple programming rules. WeTopia showed off its existing games. Screen Reach lets people use their iPhone as a game remote control for their TV. Catball Eats it All is an iPad app that uses artwork for a crazy rolling game. Baby Dance Off has a simple idea—dress like a baby, build a dance and then have a dance bottle.
Two Chop allows users to put a game in the middle of a blog post. Social Puzzle showed off its Facebook tag-team crossword. Elf Advent(ure) is a Christmas game that was downloaded more than a million times and made $15,000 in revenue a month.
Hargreaves, the co-founder of General Assembly, called himself a gamer and said the meetup is just a hobby.
