According to Read Write Web, the popularity for NY startup Turntable.fm may have peaked. The music startup created a group listening and virtual DJ app and after its May 2011 launch, several other similar services were created and it became a big trend. In January also Facebook launched a feature allowing friends to listen to music in real-time together.

But data from Alexa indicates Turntable’s Web traffic peaked in July and dived in August. Read Write Web writes that the September launch of Turntable.fm’s mobile app hasn’t propped up their levels.
