RentJolt Opens Beta for NY Apartment Seekers

RentJolt, an “apartment futures marketplace,” just launched a beta version for NY apartment dwellers. The NY-based startup allows current tenants to list their apartment information online a few months before they move. Prospective tenants can peruse listings up to eight months in advance, easing the last-minute moving madness.

Co-founder Samuel Sheinin told AGBeat that current tenants can earn between $500-$1000 if their apartment rents through RentJolt. The fee for incoming tenants is less than six percent, lower than average rental fees.

Once an application for a listed apartment is submitted, RentJolt’s local partners pre-qualify the tenant, collect the current resident’s signed surrender form and take the package to the landlord and oversee the process through lease execution and payment.
