Forget about Wall Street. The tech sector is creating a new boom in NY real estate, as these new employees need places to live.

Areas like DUMBO, Williamsburg, Chelsea and the Flatiron area are the neighborhoods tech employees flock to, according to Doug Perlson, CEO of RealDirect.

Long Island City is another area popular with tech sector employees. Eric Benjamin of Modern Spaces says to NY1 that the new Roosevelt Island applied science campus will likely add anther surge.

Newer units offer free WiFi, docking stations for devices and smart appliances. Since these buyers know about every real estate app, marketers have to be savvy in reaching out to these buyers.
