TiqIQ Raises $1.7 Million in Funding

TiqIQ, the NY-based aggregator for live event ticketing, announced it has received $1.7 million in funding led by Contour Venture Partners with Inovia Capital participating.

CEO Jesse Lawrence told BetaBeat that TiqIQ is the no. 1 aggregator in terms of reach and usage for ticketing. They plan to invest their funding in product development and increase offerings for music events. TiqIQ has generated between $2 and $5 million in revenue since its inception in 2009, according to Lawrence. Its partnerships include 1,000 publishers including the Washington Post, New York Post and SB Nation. Their platform received almost 5 million visits in November.

Because of the cost advantage, TiqIQ’s tech team is based in Tel Aviv. Lawrence said the talent pool in Israel  is “exceptional” because of the tech training Israelis receive in the army.
