250 fortunate employees of AOL’s NY-based hyperlocal startup, Patch, will be residing in a deluxe new office in Manhattan’s Chelsea district. A fitness room equipped with treadmill and a working Irish-themed pub (with shuffleboard) are all part of the new design. Long subscribed to the “gotta spend money to make money” mantra, CEO Tim Armstrong instituted Thursday night karaoke beer parties, in addition to ping-pong and foosball tables, Forbes highlights.
“Given how much time we all spend at the office, we wanted it to be as comfortable and user-friendly as possible. We work hard and we play hard and this space suits both of those. And our team’s response to the new space has been terrific,” a Patch spokeswoman told Forbes.
