Posh NY metro area town Great Neck, Long Island, (followed by Park Slope in Brooklyn and the Upper East Side), are most likely to play host to cheating spouses, according to an ashleymadison.com survey reported in the NY Post. Noel Biderman, CEO of Ashley Madison, a dating site that help users look for extramarital sex, said to the Post that, “there seems to be a disproportionate amount of cheating spouses in affluent areas and neighborhoods in New York.”
Reasons for cheating vary among gender according to Biderman; women who become more successful professionally and men who have children cheat more often. He also said, “web-savvy business people frequently experience a similar kind of magnetism. In the New York area in particular, with successful people there may be more cheating going on because the more opportunity you’re given, the more other people thrust themselves at you.”
Ashley Madison has 13 million subscribers, and around 508,000 live in the NY metro area. Based on calculations, at least 3.02 percent of Great Neck adults are paying members of ashleymadison.com. Queens neighborhood Forest Hills and TriBeCa also rank high in adulterous encounters.
