The New York Yankees and online ticket e-commerce site StubHub are in a disagreement over the prices of unwanted tickets, according to the New York Post.  Ticket prices for an upcoming game are as low as $3 on StubHub, and for the same ticket, fans would pay $15.20 at Yankees.com or the stadium box office.

StubHub’s philosophy is to let the marketplace set the price for games, and a source familiar with the ongoing negotiations said to the Post, “That’s absolutely the No. 1 issue (with the Yankees).”  The team could decide to set up its own secondary marketplace, and in 2006 prior to Major League Baseball‘s deal with StubHub, the Yankees moved to revoke season tickets of the holders who sold on the online reseller.
