Apps such as GameChanger, founded 2009 in NY, give parents, friends and fans of high school and recreational athletics programs updates on their teams

According to The Daily Bedford, Ossining High School’s baseball program in Westchester County NY is using GameChanger to provide game scores, stats and live updates via “a previously untapped resource for fans,” said CEO and co-founder Ted Sullivan.  “There’s just a tidal wave of new opportunities to enhance people’s existing experiences around amateur sports.”

Sullivan sees the app as a way for parents to check up on their kid’s performance while at work, and claimed that there were 30,000 teams from around the world who used GameChanger last year.
