Meebo, online consumer Internet company, is partnering with NY’s Hearst Digital Media to launch 13 of Hearst’s brands for Meebo Bar in June. According to FOLIO, Meebo Bar allows publishers to captivate customers and audience with a user-friendly interface and helps increase ad revenue.
Hearst’s brands that will be participating in Meebo Bar are: Cosmopolitan, Country Living, ELLE Décor, Esquire, Good Housekeeping, House Beautiful, Popular Mechanics, REDBOOK, Seventeen, Veranda, MisQuincemag.com, TheDailyGreen.com and Woman’s Day. Seventeen.com began using Meebo in 2011, and has since bolstered customer engagement and revenue, and also makes suggestions about other Hearst media that may be of interest.
Grant Whitmore, vice president of Hearst Digital Media, was quoted by FOILIOmag as saying, “ The Meebo bar gives us multiple options for customization, and lets us prominently highlight and re-circulate content that readers want to see, without having to invest a lot of resources on our end.”
