Blip is debuting its newest project, Blip Studios. Since NY-based Blip was founded in 2005, it has been working with video producers, advertisers, and distribution platforms, and the experience in this field is expected to carry over into their new venture. Blip Studios will develop and co-produce original series by working with brands, talent, and independent producers. According to MediaPost, these productions will then be monetized and sold across a variety of platforms.

The former VP of content for Blip, Steve Woolf, has been named SVP of content for the new Blip Studios. Woolf told MediaPost that, “Our ultimate goal is to create the best innovative content that leads storytelling into the next decade.” The company plans to hit all genre bases, from comedy to sci-fi. In addition to the launch, Blip Studios has signed distribution agreements with some independent production companies, which include Channel Awesome‘s “Nostalgia Critic” and “Todd in the Shadows.”
